Disease risk and leaf wetness · Coming soon

Know when disease risk is building, block by block

Leaf wetness sensors and your weather station measure the conditions fungal diseases need. The dashboard will turn them into wetness hours and risk levels, so you act when it counts.

What you see
  • Wetness hours per block
  • Risk level for each disease
  • Alert when risk climbs

How it works

Three steps from canopy to alert

  1. A leaf wetness sensor in the canopy records how long leaves stay wet. The weather station adds temperature, humidity and rain.

  2. The dashboard will count wetness hours and apply a published risk model for each disease.

  3. You will see a risk level for each block and get an alert when it climbs.

What it tracks

Three diseases, three sets of conditions

DiseaseConditions that drive itNeeds leaf wetness?
Botrytis bunch rotHours of leaf wetness at suitable temperatures (infection model based on wetness duration and temperature)Yes
Downy mildewRain, warmth and wet leaves (primary infection model)Yes
Powdery mildewHours in a favourable temperature range (temperature-hours risk index)No
It supports your agronomist, it does not replace them. The dashboard shows when conditions favour disease. Your agronomist decides what to apply and when.

The sensors

A typical vineyard block uses the weather station, a multi-depth soil probe, one leaf wetness sensor and a second leaf wetness sensor at a different canopy height, or a rain gauge. Orchards and other horticulture on request. We advise on where to mount the sensors and how many each block needs when we plan your system.

Questions

Disease risk questions

Does it replace my agronomist?

No. It shows when conditions favour disease. Your agronomist decides what to apply and when.

Do I need a leaf wetness sensor for powdery mildew?

Not for the risk calculation, though the same station supplies the temperature it uses.

How many sensors per block?

It depends on the size of the block, how dense the canopy is and how much conditions vary across the vineyard. Tell us about your blocks and we will recommend the number and position of leaf wetness sensors.
